Exit doors feature delayed egress mechanisms that discourage exit-seeking tendencies. Additionally, all exits are equipped with systems that give staff the time to respond personally to exit attempts. Every exit door is visible to staff members from multiple directions in our circular layout, and exteriors feature camera systems for added safety benefits. This gives our staff members the ability to provide individualized redirection to residents experiencing confusion, frustration, or fear.

Through this combination of environmental tools and staff training, we find the right balance between a secure building and a homelike, personalized environment with reduced feelings of being trapped.
